babel & dna lights launch april 2010

The babel table light and dna pendant lights are to being launched this May.

Mimicking foldable living organisms, the geometric ‘babel’ table light combines thin materials and a self-folding 3-dimensional conical structure, collapsing to a variety of heights when needed.

DNA pendant light is based on the double helix spiral and also has a self collapsible structure

Both lights providing a gentle non-glare light by using low energy LED's and have the advantage that they can be easily shipped or stored by the collapsing of the shade to a minimal height.

The designs emerged from experimentations with natural helical forms, such as those of insect wings and the manipulation of a single flat sheet into a 3-dimensional shape.
